It was a good run, but Sulphur unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Lafayette Lions 41-36. The Golden Tors were probably out for revenge after losing 41-40 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sulphur's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-3. As for Lafayette, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Sulphur and Lafayette should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Sulphur (ranked 21st) will meet Sam Houston (ranked 160th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Meanwhile, Lafayette will take on Southside at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 126 places (42 vs. 168).
