Basketball Game Preview: Hunter Wolverines vs. Granger Lancers

Hunter has gone 8-2 against Granger recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hunter Wolverines will head out to square off against the Granger Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Granger took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hunter, who comes in off a win.

Hunter is coming into the game on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They snuck past Cyprus with a 41-37 victory on Tuesday.

Hunter relied on the efforts of Grace Gallagher, who posted 18 points, and Skye Davidson, who scored 13 points. The dominant performance gave Davidson a new career-high in points.

Meanwhile, Granger played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 66-44 to West Jordan. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost four in a row.

Granger's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Hunter, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-10.

Hunter took their victory against Granger in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 60-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hunter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
