Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Liberty Center

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Liberty Center ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Tinora Rams 7-5.

Mackenzie Fuller spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Liberty Center's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Crow, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Another was Aubrey Zeiter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Liberty Center pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for Tinora, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Liberty Center will be playing at home against Otsego at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Tinora, they will take on Bowling Green at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
