Baseball Game Preview: Jamestown vs. Prairie Home Panthers

Jamestown has gone 8-2 against Prairie Home recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Jamestown will welcome Prairie Home at 5:00 p.m. Jamestown will be strutting in after a win while Prairie Home will be coming in after a defeat.

Jamestown hadn't beaten Pilot Grove on the road since April 21, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. Jamestown came out on top against Pilot Grove by a score of 10-6.

Tate Duncan made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Duncan was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, Brayden Schoenthal was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Hudson Clay was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Prairie Home fell victim to Eugene and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 11-0 to the Eagles. The Panthers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Prairie Home's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Jamestown, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6.

Jamestown took their win against Prairie Home in their previous meeting last Wednesday by a conclusive 10-0 score. Does Jamestown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Prairie Home turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
