Baseball Game Preview: Filer Wildcats vs. Kimberly Bulldogs

Filer is 0-10 against Kimberly since April of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Wildcats will face off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Filer's last matchup with South Fremont could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Saturday. The Wildcats came up short against the Cougars, falling 10-1. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Filer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Westley Billington, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Billington has hit this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Kimberly's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fruitland.

Jeremiah Bybee was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Chiatovich, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Filer's record now sits at 7-11. As for Kimberly, their record is now 10-6.

Filer suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Kimberly when the teams last played back in March. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
