Baseball Recap: Sonora Takes a Loss

Sonora was the 4-1 winner over Esperanza when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell just short of the Aztecs by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.

Caleb Orr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Tucker Hunnicutt was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sonora has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Esperanza, their victory bumped their record up to 11-17.

As of now, neither Sonora nor the Aztecs have any future games scheduled.
