Basketball Game Preview: Mercer Island Islanders vs. Liberty Patriots

The Mercer Island Islanders will challenge the Liberty Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, Mercer Island lost to Eastlake at home by a 66-48 margin.

Meanwhile, Liberty took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 66-32 victory over Interlake. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.

Liberty's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Mercer Island, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Mercer Island didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Liberty in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 62-56 victory.
