Softball Recap: Tonopah Comes Up Short

Tonopah extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 9-12 in the process. They lost 21-0 to the Pahranagat Valley Panthers. The game marked the first time this year in which the Muckers were not able to get on the board.

As for Pahranagat Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games.

For Pahranagat Valley's part, Hadee Walch made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Walch has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Shada Spencer was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 runs per game. Cami Cannon was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pahranagat Valley beat Tonopah by a score of 15-0 later that day.
