Basketball Game Preview: Brattleboro Bears vs. Mount Greylock Regional Mounties

The Brattleboro Bears will venture away from home to take on the Mount Greylock Regional Mounties at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Brattleboro can't be to happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Friday. They were beaten by St. Johnsbury Academy 71-36. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Hilltoppers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite their loss, Brattleboro saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dillon Jenks, who posted four points and six boards, was perhaps the best of all. Those six rebounds gave Jenks a new career-high. Owen Dascomb was another key player, putting up four points.

Meanwhile, Mount Greylock Regional took a blow against Pioneer Valley Regional on Friday, falling 93-20.

Brattleboro beat Mount Greylock Regional 51-38 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brattleboro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
