Softball Game Preview: Twinsburg Tigers vs. Solon Comets

The Twinsburg Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Solon Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Solon took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Twinsburg, who comes in off a win.

Twinsburg took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 13-10 win over Nordonia. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Solon fell victim to North Royalton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 1-0. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Gerhard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Twinsburg now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Solon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Everything went Twinsburg's way against Solon in their previous meeting on April 2nd, as Twinsburg made off with a 10-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
