Baseball Recap: Cathedral Takes Down Ranked Harrison

Cathedral faced Harrison in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Fighting Irish came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fighting Irish.

Connor Christiansen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Christiansen was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Royce Ward was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Sam Bowles also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Cathedral's record is now 16-7. As for Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Coincidentally, Cathedral and Harrison will both be playing Carmel the next time they take the field. The Fighting Irish will host the Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Raiders will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
