Baseball Recap: Somerville Comes Up Short

Somerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Malden Golden Tornados. If the Highlanders were looking for revenge after losing 12-3 to the Golden Tornados when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Somerville's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Malden, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Somerville is set to challenge their familiar foe Lynn English at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Malden will take on rival Chelsea at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
