Basketball Recap: Basha Piles Up the Points Against TMI-Episcopal + How To Watch

Basha had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it seven. They took their game with ease, bagging a 75-37 victory over the TMI-Episcopal Panthers. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-23.

Leading Basha to victory were Grace Beckler and Amira Reynolds. Beckler dropped a double-double with 21 points and 16 boards, while Reynolds dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Beckler has posted since back in December of 2024. Tifaimoana Tuitele was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Basha smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 33 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

As for TMI-Episcopal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, TMI-Episcopal saw an underclassman step up: freshman Adrienne Puckett put up 17 points along with five boards and four steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Puckett. Brooklyn Burkholder also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Basha wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 97-18 win against Tolleson on the 3rd. As for TMI-Episcopal, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on the 9th.
