It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dunedin had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Anclote Sharks a 19-0 shutout. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Charlotte Fleeman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Aliyah Roseman was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Ellison, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Dunedin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Dunedin has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Anclote, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
