Basketball Recap: Baxter Springs Takes a Loss

Baxter Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 53-12 defeat at the hands of the Girard Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Trojans are ranked 51st).

Baxter Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Girard, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Coming up, Baxter Springs will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverton on Monday. As for Girard, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 0-0 tie against Frontenac on the 22nd.
