Soccer Game Preview: West Stanly vs. Piedmont

The West Stanly Colts will venture away from home to take on the Piedmont Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

West Stanly came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Community School of Davidson, falling 9-0. West Stanly's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Piedmont made sure to put some goals up on the board against Parkwood on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Wolf Pack with a sharp 8-0 win. Piedmont have beaten Parkwood the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Parkwood has come to flipping the script.

Piedmont's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for West Stanly, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
