Softball Recap: Topsail Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Topsail, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Dixon Bulldogs on Thursday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Addison Ash looked comfortable as she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Topsail let Riley Trimble and Maris Jordan run wild. Trimble scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Jordan scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave Jordan a new career-high. Lauren Clinch also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Topsail's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Dixon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Topsail will have a chance to go back-to-back against Dixon: the pair will be back at it again later today.
