Basketball Recap: Culver Academies Skates Past Argos with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Culver Academies over Argos in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Dragons out of the water with a 55-8 final score. The Eagles have beaten the Dragons the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dragons has come to flipping the script.

Leading Culver Academies to victory were Piper Brumm and Lilah Treber. Brumm shot 50% from the field to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds, while Treber went 5-for-9 on her way to 10 points and six steals. That's the most points Brumm has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Dickey, who put up eight points and six boards.

Culver Academies smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Culver Academies now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Argos, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Culver Academies will challenge Tippecanoe Valley at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Argos, they will take on Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Dragons their first taste of in-conference action this season.
