Basketball Recap: Devon Prep Comes Up Short

Devon Prep had lost three straight on the road, but on Sunday they dropped down to 2-8 to make it four. They received a blow as they fell 69-50 to the Neumann-Goretti Saints. The Tide were down 55-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Devon Prep lost, don't look at Jaden Craft. Despite the final result, he posted seven points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Saeed Garrett, who earned nine points.

As for Neumann-Goretti, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.0 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Neumann-Goretti to victory, but perhaps none more so than Allassane N'Diaye, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 16 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Yates, who went 5-for-6 en route to 15 points.

Devon Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-58 defeat against La Salle College on the 9th. As for Neumann-Goretti, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 92-69 victory against West Catholic on the 7th.
