Soccer Game Preview: Fort Morgan vs. Frontier Academy

The Fort Morgan Mustangs will challenge the Frontier Academy Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Fort Morgan: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Frontier Academy has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Fort Morgan is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Longmont on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Trojans. While losing is never fun, Fort Morgan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Longmont are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, Frontier Academy kept a clean sheet against Weld Central on Tuesday. They blew past the Rebels 3-0. Give Frontier Academy's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

They hit Weld Central with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Elle Haas, Dani Douglass, and Piper Bays.

Fort Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-1. As for Frontier Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
