Basketball Recap: Nelson Island Beats Z John Williams for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Nelson Island came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Z John Williams Hawks by a score of 84-72.

Z John Williams' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Warren Kaganak, who posted 25 points. Another player making a difference was Alexie Amik, who had 16 points.

Nelson Island's win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Nelson Island has already played their next game, a 58-42 victory against Chief Paul Memorial on the 24th. As for Z John Williams, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 68-50 loss against Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial on the 24th.
