Basketball Game Preview: Grayson County Blue Devils vs. Bland County Bears

The Grayson County Blue Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Bland County Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Grayson County is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Grayson County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-47 to Auburn. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while the Eagles are ranked 123rd).

Bland County played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over Galax. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bears have posted since December 2, 2024.

Grayson County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Bland County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Grayson County was able to grind out a solid win over Bland County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 55-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grayson County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
