Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Happy Camp

Happy Camp waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Big Valley Cardinals out 56-54. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in January, they had to take a 50-43 defeat.

Despite the loss, Big Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Juan Flores went 10-for-25 to rack up 29 points and five assists. Those 29 points gave Flores a new career-high. Leif Lewis was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Happy Camp's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Big Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Happy Camp does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Big Valley, they will square off against Hayfork at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
