Baseball Recap: Quakertown Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Quakertown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Upper Dublin Flying Cardinals, sneaking past 4-2. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 4-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Carter Tucholski was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other pitching news, Lochlan Everitt tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Tucholski wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brady Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. William Bowen was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Quakertown's record now sits at 10-6. As for Upper Dublin, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Coming up, Quakertown will face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Upper Dublin, they will take on Garnet Valley at 3:45 p.m. on the 15th.
