Soccer Game Preview: Beverly vs. Masconomet Regional

Beverly is 2-8 against Masconomet Regional since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Panthers will head out to square off against the Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Beverly's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Danvers as they made off with a 5-0 win. Beverly haven't had any issues with Danvers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Masconomet Regional got the win against Peabody Veterans Memorial on Monday by a conclusive 5-0. Give Masconomet Regional's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Masconomet Regional's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Beverly, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.

Beverly was able to grind out a solid win over Masconomet Regional in their previous meeting back in September, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
