Basketball Recap: Lanier Christian Academy Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Lanier Christian Academy had won six straight games and Mekhi Barber did his part to make it seven on Thursday. The Lanier Christian Academy Lightning simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Scholars Guild Academy Spartans 81-46 thanks in part to Barber, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Barber, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

Lanier Christian Academy pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Scholars Guild Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lanier Christian Academy and Johnson Ferry Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Scholars Guild Academy, they will look to defend their home court on December 19th against Peachtree Academy at 6:45 p.m.
