Basketball Preview: Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors vs. Bishop Snyder Cardinals
Trinity Christian Academy is 2-8 against the Cardinals since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors will take on the Bishop Snyder Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Trinity Christian Academy's game was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Global Outreach Charter Academy by a score of 56-47. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Trinity Christian Academy.
Trinity Christian Academy relied on the efforts of Luke Baker, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Cameron Anderson, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Mason Brooks was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Meanwhile, Bishop Snyder didn't have too much trouble with the Stingrays at home on Thursday as they won 56-42. Given Bishop Snyder's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Stingrays are ranked 623rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity Christian Academy pushed their record up to 16-8 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for Bishop Snyder, their victory bumped their record up to 9-16.
Trinity Christian Academy came up short against the Cardinals in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 29-25. Can Trinity Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
