Preview: St. Louis Sharks vs. Nouvel Catholic Central Panthers
The St. Louis Sharks will head out on the road to face off against the Nouvel Catholic Central Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Louis has four straight victories, Nouvel Catholic Central has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
St. Louis put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They breezed by Vestaburg on the road to the tune of 62-20. Given St. Louis' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Vestaburg is ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nouvel Catholic Central suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 73-13 loss at the hands of Arthur Hill.
St. Louis is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Nouvel Catholic Central, their defeat was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-12.
St. Louis took their victory against Nouvel Catholic Central when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 39-14. Will St. Louis repeat their success, or does Nouvel Catholic Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
