Football Recap: Bellevue East Chieftains vs. Westview Wolverines

Bellevue East fell victim to Westview and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Wolverines, falling 41-0. The Chieftains were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolverines from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Scott Miner II, who threw for 150 yards and five TDs, and also rushed for 63 yards. Those five passing touchdowns gave Miner II a new career-high. Sage Giddings was another key rusher, rushing for 181 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Bellevue East and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Westview, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Bellevue East didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 55-20 loss against Grand Island on the 16th. As for Westview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 72-0 victory against Omaha Northwest on the 17th.
