Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Massaponax). They came out on top against the Brooke Point Black Hawks by a score of  9-4  on Friday. The  win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
 Jaxon Beasley and  Austin Elliott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Beasley   pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   six  hits. Meanwhile,  Elliott   tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Beasley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Beasley  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double, while  Elliott  went 2-for-4 with one  run and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  Elliott has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news,  Ethan Greene was  incredible,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  two  runs gave  him a new career-high.
Massaponax picked up their first road  victory, bumping their record up to 2-16-1. As for Brooke Point,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-12.
 Looking ahead, Massaponax will look to defend their home field  on Monday against James Monroe  at 6:30  p.m. The Yellow Jackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.07  runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brooke Point, they are taking a road trip to  square off against King George  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Foxes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so the Black Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
