Basketball Recap: Roswell's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Roswell waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Gainesville Red Elephants with points to spare, taking the game 41-22. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-30 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roswell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Gonda, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Gonda a new career-high in assists (six). Taylor Carlson was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.

Despite the loss, Gainesville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Damaria Colburn posted ten points.

Roswell pushed their record up to 11-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Gainesville, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Roswell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-29 win against Chattahoochee on the 31st. As for Gainesville, they will be playing at home against Milton at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. Milton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Gainesville likes a good challenge.
