Basketball Recap: Benavides Comes Up Short

Benavides was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by the San Perlita Trojans and fell 49-10. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-7 back in January.

Benavides' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for San Perlita, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Benavides does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Perlita, they will head out on the road to take on McMullen County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as San Perlita comes in on four and McMullen County on nine.
