West Mesquite won against Spruce last Tuesday with 18 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Wranglers were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Timberwolves. The victory continues a trend for the Wranglers in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Emmanuel Calvillo, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Sanchez Maya, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

West Mesquite always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

West Mesquite's win bumped their record up to 4-19. As for Spruce, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, West Mesquite will be playing in front of their home fans against Seagoville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.08 runs per game on average), something the Wranglers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Spruce, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-0 defeat against Adams on the 5th.
