Ethan Sanchez put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in February on Thursday. He struck out three batters over six innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He is becoming a predictor of Verdugo Hills's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 7-13 when he doesn't).

Looking ahead, Sanchez and Verdugo Hills will welcome Bell at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Dons will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 416 places lower in California), but they're not letting that get them down.
