Basketball Recap: Excel Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Excel Christian Academy lost against Oakwood Christian back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Excel Christian Academy was beaten by Oakwood Christian 47-19. Excel Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Oakwood Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Brodie, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Brodie has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alison Whitescarver, who had 12 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Excel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Oakwood Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.

Coming up, Excel Christian Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Trion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oakwood Christian, they will host LaFayette at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ramblers' defense has only allowed 29.9 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
