Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Giselle Rodarte and Sophia Jara Leads Covina over Baldwin Park

The Covina Colts beat the Baldwin Park Braves 25-15 on Thursday.

Covina found their leader in sophomore Raelene Cruz, who threw for 215 yards and four TDs.

Covina didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Giselle Rodarte and Sophia Jara.

The victory got Covina back to even at 1-1. As for Baldwin Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covina will square off against Don Lugo at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Conquistadores' defense has only allowed five points per game this season, so the Colts' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Baldwin Park, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Mark Keppel at 10:00 a.m.
