Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Academy Silverbacks vs. Rehoboth Christian Lynx

The Legacy Academy Silverbacks will square off against the Rehoboth Christian Lynx at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Legacy Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Cottonwood Classical Prep. They walked away with a 61-53 victory over the Coyotes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Silverbacks.

Legacy Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Lavery, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points. What's more, Lavery also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daniel Tavarez, who posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rehoboth Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They rang in the new year with a 54-44 victory over Shiprock on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Lynx as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Rehoboth Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Legacy Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
