Baseball Recap: St. Rita Gets the Win

St. Rita never let their opponents score on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the De La Salle Meteors, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since May 4, 2024.

Sebastian Reyes tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jayden Rivera was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

The win made it two in a row for St. Rita and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for De La Salle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Looking ahead, St. Rita will venture away from home to challenge Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Friars will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for De La Salle, they will welcome Providence Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
