Basketball Recap: St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bishop Loughlin last Monday, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea came back down to earth. The St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings fell to the Mary Louis Academy Hilltoppers 69-65. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Vikings came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 72nd).

St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Mary Louis Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9.
