Softball Recap: Berean Christian Has No Trouble Against Atlantic Christian

Berean Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Atlantic Christian Sharks 17-2. Considering the Bulldogs have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Georgic was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Georgic was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Berean Christian let Lillian Severson and Marie Poulette run wild. Severson scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4, while Poulette scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Severson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Brianna Acosta was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

With the win, Berean Christian broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Atlantic Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berean Christian will take on Boca Raton Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blazers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.43 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Atlantic Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Highlands Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
