Preview: Elkmont Red Devils vs. Hatton Hornets
After three games on the road, Elkmont is heading back home. They will take on the Hatton Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Elkmont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
Elkmont scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They really took it to Tanner for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-16 victory on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Elkmont has managed all season.
Elkmont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darby Davis out in front who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Williams, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Hatton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Belgreen, falling 64-37.
Elkmont's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-16. As for Hatton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
