The West Covina Bulldogs will face off against the Garey Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, West Covina turned things around against Sierra Vista on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Dons as they made off with a 7-1 win.

Leslie Baustista spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ruby Pasag, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Danielle Diaz, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
West Covina was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garey). They put the hurt on El Monte with a sharp 22-6 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.
Tatiana Navarro was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelli Szabo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
The victory got West Covina back to even at 3-3-1. As for Garey, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Covina hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Garey struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Covina took their victory against Garey when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 8-1. Does West Covina have another victory up their sleeve, or will Garey turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
