Coal City waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Manteno Panthers 55-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Coalers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Panthers are ranked 269th).

Coal City's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Manteno, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coal City will head out to challenge Peotone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manteno, they will venture away from home to square off against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
