Softball Recap: Orting Cardinals vs. Eatonville Cruisers

After losing to Eatonville the last time they met, Orting decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cardinals came out on top against the Cruisers by a score of 15-11 on Friday. The Cardinals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kathryn Prest was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off 11 hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Orting let Madalynn Halte and Katie Arnett run wild. Halte scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-5, while Arnett scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Arnett continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
