Basketball Recap: Whitefield Academy Find Success

Whitefield Academy got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 75-62 win over the Wesleyan Wolves. That's more bragging rights for the WolfPack, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Wesleyan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mitchell Lietz, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Meyer, who posted 11 points and four steals.

The victory got Whitefield Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Wesleyan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Whitefield Academy will square off against Paideia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The WolfPack will be up against the Pythons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wesleyan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-52 win against The Weber School on the 11th.
