Baseball Preview: Tahlequah Tigers vs. McAlester Buffaloes

Tahlequah and McAlester are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Tahlequah Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the McAlester Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Tahlequah will be strutting in after a win while McAlester will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Tahlequah was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Kelley, taking the game 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for Tahlequah.

Meanwhile, McAlester fell victim to a rough 11-1 loss at the hands of Norman on Saturday. McAlester has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

McAlester saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Stinchcomb, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Tahlequah's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for McAlester, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Tahlequah came out on top in a nail-biter against McAlester when the teams last played back in April of 2023, sneaking past 10-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tahlequah since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
