Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Lynx vs. Cleveland Eagles

Lincoln and Cleveland are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Lincoln Lynx will head out on the road to challenge the Cleveland Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Cleveland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln, who comes in off a win.

Lincoln will bounce into Monday's game after beating Bishop Blanchet, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Lincoln had just enough and edged Bishop Blanchet out 60-58. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lynx's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Bears are ranked 90th).

Meanwhile, Cleveland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 59-42 to Chief Sealth.

Lincoln will have to contain Nolin Purganan as he made an impact in Cleveland's last game. He posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Louie, who put up eight points.

Cleveland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Lincoln, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.

Everything went Lincoln's way against Cleveland in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Lincoln made off with a 64-42 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
