Softball Recap: Hixson Makes It Four in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Soddy Daisy, Hixson was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the East Ridge Pioneers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Chloe Turner, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Olivia Robinson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Hixson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Hixson's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for East Ridge, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hixson will host Ooltewah at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Owls will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Ridge, they will be playing at home against Signal Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
