Basketball Game Preview: Wilmot Panthers vs. Cary-Grove Trojans

The Wilmot Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Cary-Grove Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Wilmot came up short against Racine Case and fell 76-63. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Cary-Grove won against Jacobs on Thursday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Cary-Grove came out on top against Geneva by a score of 59-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Cary-Grove is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Wilmot, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Wilmot came up short against Cary-Grove in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 64-53. Can Wilmot avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
