De Beque and Soroco are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. De Beque has now lost 14 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 29.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times De Beque and West Grand had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Dragons came up short against the Mustangs on Saturday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-13, 25-14.

Soroco won the last time they faced Hayden and Ceci Gregory did her part to make sure it happened again. The Rams blew past the Tigers 3-0 on Friday thanks in part to Gregory, who had 19 digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Soroco not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Hayden between 13 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 25-16.

The win made it two in a row for Soroco and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for De Beque, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: De Beque has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Soroco struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Everything went De Beque's way against Soroco when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as De Beque made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
